Buying Film

We provide you with your own roll of film for each assignment - but that doesn't mean you can't also buy your own and do some additional shooting! (Also, remember that just like your box of photo paper, you are required to buy a replacement if you lose or destroy the one we give you!)

WHAT to buy:

35mm black & white film

If you want to buy your own film, we recommend:
  • Kodak T-MAX 400 speed
  • Kodak Tri-X 400 speed
  • Ilford 400 speed
(We use Arista 400 speed film in class, but you can't purchase this in camera shops because it is sold in bulk to institutions and schools.)
